Just done a search myself and can only find booking via aferry.to - do Celtic have a site of their own? I'll keep looking!
On the options I tried you had to take a cabin and return was £328 with a standard car, I think I'll stick to LD Boulogne if this is the case at £30 each way. More akin to BF prices at that, which is a shame as I feel we do need more competition on the west routes? |

Depends what date you book as to whether you have to have a cabin. I was able to be flexible on dates so booked a return with the seat both ways and got a crossing for 98.00GBP on a nine day return. The closest ive ever had to that is a 48hr return for 65GBP on Brittany Ferries.About 10 cars and the same number of lorries on my crossings and about 30 people on board both ways and over half of them were lorry drivers.Dont think it will ever be packed out certainly at this time of the year, but im not complaining.Quick and Easy loading both ends, just remember when you go into the terminal at Portsmouth the Celtic booth is on the right side next to where the coaches enter and at Cherbourg for the night crossing it was in the middle and wasnt easy to see on entering the terminal as it wasnt lit up or marked very well. I might have just gone too fast in there but did see lots of other people turning around as they had gone down the wrong lanes.Hopefully things may be different next time. On board the Chairs are comfortable for such a short crossing for sleeping as they were new and quite spacious although i prefer to stretch out a bit so opt for the sleeping bag option on the floor.Breakfasts and drinks were more expensive than other operators.Example[nearly 2euros for a coffee].!!! As a no frills option of crossing the channel Celtic lines gets my vote and i will definately use them again.
Just noticed this has been a bit of an essay but hope it helps afew of you.
Kind Regards
