LD Lines

Hi,

Just been looking to book a trip to Frace on LD lines website, it seems they are now using the boat the Cote d'Albatre instead of the Norman Spirit. Does anyone know if this is a permanent change? Or is anywhere to sleep on there?

Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Chrissie

Don't know if it's a permanent change but we returned on it a couple of weeks ago to Le Havre and there are cabins on it.

Hi,

There are cabins on the CdA, typical 4 berth arrangement (2 up, 2 down ), other than that its seating. (airline style or armchair, is possible to sleep in them although expect an ache or 2 when you wake up !!!! )

Its probably as permanent as anything in the ferry market. The CdA normally replaces the Seven Sisters ferry between Newhaven / Dieppe when the Seven Sisters has a refit for example.

The CdA is smaller than the LD Lines boats (Norman Spirit etc), it is a Transmanche Ferries boat, can take up to 600 passengers.

Hope this helps

Paul

The chairman's blog on the LD Lines web site indicted that this is a permanent change ( until the next time) and that sleeper seats are being fitted this week. So those of you who like to pay the extra amount for an overnight crossing there will be a variety of sleeping arangements.

Unfortunately, for those of us who do not like paying the cost of overnight sleeping arrangements the only daytime crossing from Portsmouth, from April onwards, is at 8.30 in the morning which is far too early for those of us living north of the M4.

Yes John F, I was talking about sleeping arrangements as in in the bar on the Northern Spirit, being someone who can't sleep on their back in a chair and unwilling to pay for extra sleeper seats!
