Information on the Normandy Landings commemoration which took place in the region June through August 2004.
Every ten years there are many events and ceremonies to commemorate the 1944 D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy. 2004 marked the 60th anniversary of this historic battle. The eighty-day period of the Battle of Normandy, from June to August 1944, was marked with an eighty-day period of remembrance. Normandy Memoir 2004A full programme of events, vigils, exhibitions and ceremonies took place throughout the region, with the key ceremonies from 5 to 7 June 2004.
